The countdown is on! ⏰ We’re so excited to welcome you to campus this fall. Whether you’re a first-year student stepping into your first residence hall or a returning Hog who knows the ropes, here’s everything you need to know to make your move-in experience smooth, simple, and stress-free.
What’s New on Campus?
A New Residence Hall Is Coming!
Construction is beginning on the university’s newest residence hall, scheduled to open in 2028. It will be located on the north campus, just south of Maple South and west of the Quad.
While we’re excited for this new addition, we want to be upfront: students living nearby may hear weekday construction noise during daylight hours. We’ll work hard to minimize disruptions—no early-morning starts, we promise.
Move-In: How It Works
Check-In at Baum-Walker Stadium
All students (except those in Locale or Marshall Apartments) will begin check-in at Baum-Walker Stadium, August 6–9, 2025. Please use Exit 60 off I-49 and approach the stadium from the south.
-
Key pickup is at the 3rd base concourse
-
You’ll receive two parking passes (one student, one parent)
-
You’ll have 30 minutes to unload after arriving at your residence hall lot
-
U-Hauls and trailers aren’t permitted in residence hall lots
-
After unloading, students will park in Lots 320, 321, or 322
-
Parents may use Garland or Harmon garage upper levels
Move-In Shuttle Service
Need a lift after parking? Shuttles run from 7:30 a.m. during move-in days and serve:
-
Lot 320
-
Maple Hill
-
Northwest Quad
-
Union Station (center campus)
-
Pomfret/Adohi
Move-in parking opens at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, for those with resident reserved permits.
Arrival Time Selection
Starting Tuesday, June 17, students can select their official arrival time based on their assigned residence hall. Those times are posted on the Contract Dates webpage.
Sorority Recruitment Students: You’ll get a separate email confirming your recruitment profile with University Housing. Once you receive the email, you can select your arrival time. This is not automatic after registering for recruitment and may take a week to process. All recruitment students will be guaranteed a move-in time before recruitment events begin.
Housing Updates & Reminders
Renter’s Insurance Recommended
We strongly recommend purchasing renter’s insurance or confirming coverage through a family homeowner’s policy. While rare, incidents like water damage can occur, so it’s best to be prepared.
Wallpapers in Rooms
Please be aware that decorating your rooms with temporary wallpaper is prohibited and may result in damage fees. For a full list of what to bring, visit the Residence Hall Handbook.
