What is Lead Hogs and why should I apply?
The Lead Hogs application will re-open Monday, Aug. 17.
Lead Hogs is a student leadership development program offered to students who live on campus at the University of Arkansas. It is for students interested in learning and growing in their leadership skills, building their resume, meeting other students on campus, and making lasting memories.
The program is designed so that every student has an opportunity to do something they are interested in. Are you interested in programming and event planning? What about service opportunities? How about leadership seminars, keynote speakers, and community building? Did you serve on student council in high-school and want to continue your time in student government? Lead Hogs has all of these opportunities and more! You can make the student leadership experience on campus your very own journey and we are here to help support you!
Lead Hogs is also a great way to get to know other students as well as staff members in their residential community. If you are looking to connect and network with others on campus, Lead Hogs will help you do that.
The Lead Hogs program is also the launching pad to getting involved in other leadership programs on campus like Residents’ Interhall Congress (student government for housing), National Residence Hall Honorary, or being a resident assistant (RA). The opportunities for growth are endless and even expand to things outside of University Housing.
Meetings are held weekly in the halls at 6 p.m. Monday nights. A campus-wide meeting is held monthly. If you decide to run to be a representative within your Lead Hogs team, you will attend the RIC meeting right after the 6 p.m. meeting on Mondays, starting at 7:30 pm.
As a Lead Hog you also get the opportunity to move-in early to help volunteer with our regular move-in days. As you apply, please note that Lead Hogs move-in is Aug 12 and 13.
